I fail to see any problem with them so do it
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:48 |
|
I’ve always found them more attractive than the SC.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:49 |

It’s ugly. Other than that it’s alright I guess.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:49 |

Um, um, um...
Nope, can’t think of a reason.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:51 |

It’s ugly.
Like, Hyundai mated with a refrigerator ugly.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:52 |
|
Because you have no need for a sedan, so why not get one when you’re older?
.... and SC’s are better.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:52 |
|
I think the SC is more attractive, but the GS is okay.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:52 |

Noooooooo u rong.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:52 |

Your opinion is wrong.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:53 |

It reminds me of the E-Class with the stupid headlights.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:53 |
|
Other than it being somewhat ungainly in the styling department, there is no reason not to look at these. They’re great. I would love to have a next-gen GS430, I think they’re amazing.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:53 |
|
But a clean SC is hard to find, let alone the updated models.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:53 |
|
That’s a lot of miles, but it’s super clean, has most of its records, and is well priced. I think you would have to be crazy not to buy it. Let the V8 flow through you.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:54 |

Those headlights are awesome.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:54 |

Well, at least I’m not ugly.

Do you need a 4-door?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:58 |

ugly
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:58 |

What ever the reason, I was a master tech in this era and will always have to hookup with Lexus directly. In that case..
Go for a GS430 for sure man. Less of a pain when it comes to maintanance
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:59 |
|
The haggard garage guys have one.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 16:59 |
|
All 3 of my tickets have been at the hands of UZ engines. Also the V8 has a habit of making me almost run out of gas hahah
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:00 |

Honestly these have always been a favorite of mine. I saw a mid-2000s one with new GS wheels and it looked great. Luxurious, relatively fast, and tend to be bullet proof mechanically.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:01 |
|
So I'm not the only one who jumped on CL after that previous post?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:01 |
|
do you own your own wellness distribution business and want other to ask you about how they too could become independently wealthy?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:01 |
|
Because if you’re no longer “a 2 door person” than go the whole way and enjoy that good life luxury. Get an LS instead.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:03 |
|
My friend has a 430 and loves it. They are fantastic cars, and very reliable. The bad news is that makes them expensive, but the good news is it will be worth more when you go to sell it.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:03 |
|
Oh sorry, I thought you said why you SHOULD get a GS
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:04 |
|
Can’t think of a reason... But the SC is a grand tourer and better looking
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:04 |
|
Why not an LS430? :)
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:06 |
|
Literally no reason! All the awesomeness of the LS, but lighter and nimbler!
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:06 |
|
Why not? Make sure the timing belt is done, and put it on Bilstein B14s to take some of the boring out. I’d do it, if I had space and a Miata for the stick shift jones.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:06 |
|
You could probably buy an LS.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:07 |

I like them, but you should drive a few and check them out first obviously. In theory it’s a cool car - but 300hp out of a 4.3l V8 in a car that weighs close to 4,000lbs and gets 21mpg highway max...might not be as great as it sounds, especially compared to modern cars. But if its just a get around car that’s not going to be a commuter car and you don’t expect spirited driving in it, probably a good buy.
I secretly love the SC430 convertibles...so weird and awesome (and absolutely impractical). The design is brilliant though - especially given how few they sold it’s going to be a classic someday.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:11 |

I had a 95 GS. I loved everything but the repair costs. As a poor college student, probably wasn’t the best car but it was a hand me down so I couldn’t and still won’t complain.
I won't say give up on your quest for a good SC but you can't really go wrong with one of these. They're amazing highway cruisers so if you get one, hit the open road asap.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:12 |
|
It’s not an SC400.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:14 |
|
Test your father’s love and see if he can help you pick up a GS430!
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:17 |
|
Because no one would love you ever again.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:33 |
|
My Accord does 240hp for 3200lbs. I’ll be okay.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:33 |
|
I love the styling of that gen. So smooth.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:34 |
|
Probably. But then again I’m not really interested in a large limousine right now.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:34 |
|
I’m not that interested in getting a limousine right now.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:35 |
|
Neither am I.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:35 |
|
So does my Accord so I’m not losing with a UZ.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:36 |
|
Cabt argue there. But SCs are proving difficult to find.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:36 |
|
Too big.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:36 |
|
It wouldn’t hurt.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:36 |
|
So are you.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:38 |
|
The GS300's had 2J’s. Just add boost.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:39 |
|
So going by recent history you’ll want one in about month then?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:41 |
|
Probably.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:48 |
|
“That’s not a limousine...this is a limousine!” cliche?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 17:58 |

Ok, so how about this?

I had to stop in the middle of Alabama twice to get it. What a case study of people.. On the ticket side though, Just watch the 2uz. I’m just glad I haven’t driven to many 3uz otherwise I would have gotten 3 more tickets. I have 1 with the 1uz and 2 with the 2uz.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:05 |
|
Ha, I should totally get that!
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:08 |

Huh, lucky you dont have an F20C.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:10 |

22re would put me in prison.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:26 |
|
Just a mid-size limousine?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:31 |
|
Well currently I service the BUSINESS ACCOUNTS for a wellness distribution business.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:41 |
|
I have no practical argument against. Find one with the shift buttons.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:41 |
|
Get one! I almost got a gs430 (like 5 years ago) but had some issues with the seller. Somehow ended up with a SC400 (that I put less than 2000 miles on a year......) And don’t hate me for those wheels, it came with the car, I have different wheels on there now.
PS: I don’t know how to oppo so i’m not an author (i think that’s what it’s called). But a few days ago I saw a REAL 959 on the freeway and made a post about it, how do I share with more of u guys?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:45 |
|
What the shit? The brake light lenses aren’t faded! Something is suspect here ...
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:45 |
|
That model year is a classic. Would purchase and cruise.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:47 |
|
I shared your 959 post to Oppositelock. If you want authorship, develop a clean commenting/participation history and ask here .
Nice SC400 BTW :)
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:52 |
|
Add lightness?
![]() 04/28/2016 at 18:56 |
|
If you’re going to do that, get an IS300.
I had mine for 10 years and 160k miles and I still love that car even though I sold it.
![]() 04/28/2016 at 19:46 |

Yuh-huh

1UZ is a cool motor. Do it. Do it now.

damn, i need to do this, and follow oppo more often, i get sucked into gawker and stuff and end up always regretting...
